Communications Toolkit for our Platinum Partners

This toolkit outlines ideas on how you can communicate your partnership with Chapter One on your own channels

Celebrate our partnership on social media!

We love seeing our corporate partners' posts about your motivations for partnering with Chapter One and the special moments your volunteers experience. Every post helps raise awareness of the work we do together and could inspire other organisations to join the movement!

The government's National Year of Reading 2026 recognises that we're facing a literacy crisis and aims to "inspire thousands of community reading champions" and "build a culture where reading is for everyone, everywhere."

As a Chapter One Platinum Partner, you're ahead of the curve—your organisation is already helping reach children who need reading support the most, providing employees with meaningful volunteering opportunities, and demonstrating genuine social impact. We are very grateful to the commitment made by our Platinum Partners to our Online Reading Volunteers Programme.

Our @Chapter One UK online reading volunteers are making incredible progress! With 2026 being designated the National Year of Reading, there's no better time to be involved. We’re proud to be a Platinum Partner, providing 100+ volunteers who team ‘meet’ online with a child for 30 minutes a week, during the school day.

Our team tells us these 30-minute weekly sessions are the highlight of their week, and we're already seeing the difference they're making to children's reading confidence. Did you know that only 1 in 3 children aged 8-18 say they enjoy reading, the lowest in 20 years? We're proud our colleagues are tackling this challenge head-on. Does your company want to make a difference too? Get in touch with Chapter One about corporate partnerships!

✏️ Suggested posts for our individual online reading volunteers

In addition to using your company social media channels to showcase our partnership, we would love you to encourage your employees who are volunteering for Chapter One to actively promote their involvement with the programme on their personal social media networks. They could post about the excitement of watching their student’s confidence soar, or reflect on how they themselves are benefiting from the experience. Many volunteers tell us that reading with Chapter One gives them 30 minutes when they can switch off from the pressures of the working day and enjoy a meaningful 1:1 human connection. You can find a full social media toolkit for volunteers here, as well as some suggested posts below.

If they are able to record short video testimonials or take selfies of themselves during a reading session then even better!

I just signed up as an online reading volunteer with @Chapter One UK! Did you know that the government has dedicated 2026 as the National Year of Reading? I'm getting ahead of the curve by starting now - this academic year I’ll be spending 30 minutes a week reading online with a child who needs that extra support. Research shows the more reading influencers a child has, the more likely they are to become keen independent readers. Time to make a difference!

Did you know that the government has dedicated 2026 as the National Year of Reading? There's good reason - only 1 in 3 children aged 8-18 say they enjoy reading, the lowest in 20 years! Through @Chapter One UK, I'm getting a head start on tackling this as an online reading volunteer. Just 30 minutes a week can make a real difference! I’m very grateful to [Insert company name] for supporting Chapter One as a Platinum Partner this year.

🌟 Other ways to highlight our partnership

📹 Video testimonials

We are always looking for video testimonials from our volunteers to share on Chapter One's social media channels! This would involve a volunteer recording themselves on their mobile phone for around a minute or so, talking about their experience of being a volunteer. If you, as a Volunteer Coordinator, would like to record a video from a corporate partner perspective, explaining why you chose to partner with Chapter One, that would also be fantastic! Video testimonials are a powerful tool for us, particularly on social media, so if you or any of your volunteers are interested, please let us know.

Here’s an example of a great video by one of our Liberty Global volunteers.

✨ Going above and beyond

Want to go 'above and beyond' your partnership and enter into other forms of collaboration? This year, so far, there are plans for road safety campaigns, book drives, World Book Day story competitions, office visits and more! Get in touch with Anna Ansted, our Corporate Partnerships Manager at anna.ansted@chapterone.org if you would like to discuss a collaboration idea!

We’re always very happy to collaborate with our partners on press releases showcasing their commitment to Chapter One and the amazing support from their volunteers. Here are some examples from our partners Draeger and Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation, who shared details of their partnerships with the media!
